Suddenly, everything changed

Primary schools in Luxembourg lacked an age-appropriate educational tool to teach the history of the Second World War and the country’s occupation by Nazi Germany.

In response, we conceived a booklet with an engaging fictionalised story, accompanied by a range of educational activities. By following four relatable protagonists, children can explore complex and challenging subjects, such as war, persecution, and resistance. The booklet helps young learners become aware of the importance of democracy and the values of an open society.

The project was commissioned by the Zentrum fir politesch Bildungand the Service mémoire de la Deuxième Guerre Mondiale. It was developed together with Editions Guy Binsfeld and Stichting Vredeseducatie.
