Pure Europe

The European Capital of Culture 2022 showcases four major central exhibitions, one of which revisits Europe’s past and culture from a contemporary point of view. We have been asked to develop the exhibition content from the first rough concept through to the final texts and exhibits.

The exhibition challenges six common stereotypes about the continent. However, rather than offering definitive answers, the exhibition provokes reflection. By regularly changing perspective — from north to south, east to west, the center of Europe to its peripheries — it invites visitors to confront their prejudices and form their own views.

The project was commissioned by the European Capital of Culture 2022 and developed jointly with Tinker Imagineers. It covers ca. 600 m2.
