Permanent exhibition, 2023-2025
European Museum Schengen
The European Museum in Schengen invited us to remodel its permanent exhibition. We developed a new concept that highlights both the history of the Schengen Agreements and the ongoing debates they have sparked over the past decades.
The exhibition takes visitors on a journey through the evolution of European borders and border controls, exploring how they have been transformed by the European integration process. The impact of the Schengen Agreement on everyday life features as much as its fragility and limitations.
The exhibition is built around interactive digital installations, allowing visitors to engage with original artefacts, educational games and immersive films. Younger visitors are additionally given a specially designed brochure.
The project was commissioned by the municipality of Schengen. It was developed in collaboration with Migliore + Servetto and Karmachina.
